Provence born. Paris trained. NYC made. From his first entry into the hairstyling world, Frédéric has been a pioneer in all facets of the industry—first by introducing his signature French effortless-chic approach to cutting and styling, then by revolutionizing the Guest Salon Experience with his salon at Bergdorf Goodman and finally by moving into to product formulation.

Frédéric transformed hair care from an everyday commodity to luxurious, benefit-rich products scientifically formulated to address the needs of the hair. Many haircare brand founders/ leaders openly credit Frédéric for creating the luxury hair category. He continues his pioneering legacy with the launch of his newest brand, FEKKAI 3.0, combining his legendary expertise on everything hair with his relentless focus on creating innovative, high-performance products that are clean, vegan and sustainable.

Our Formulas
+ Ingredients

The best botanicals from nature + cutting edge, clean science innovation = the hair of your dreams. Our Salon grade, EWG-compliant formulas are individually created by Frédéric Fekkai and our network of clean science chemists around the world. Each ingredient is intentionally selected for their specific ability to address the needs, immediate and long term, of both the scalp and hair. Each formula is personally tested by Frédéric Fekkai himself, along with stylists in our FEKKAI flagship salons and within our global stylist network. Formulas can be revised as many as 10x to ensure that they deliver the absolute best performance for stylists and consumers alike.

Our commitment to sustainability is full circle, one way we do this is by incorporating eco-certified, Quali-tree sustainably sourced raw ingredients.

Our Packaging

We are proud to be the first major haircare brand to walk away from virgin plastic. In 2019 we made a solid commitment to reducing ocean bound plastic waste by purchased over 64 million grams of PCR (post-consumer recycled plastic) in year 1 alone. Humble, recycled gallon milk jugs get a new life as part of our FEKKAI 3.0 bottles or jars. Our PCR content ranges from 30-95% depending on the product and even our shipping boxes and packing materials are 100% recyclable. 

Our Commitment to Sustainability

As Frédéric always says, “Looking good shouldn’t be at the expense of the planet”. We have one planet, and we must take care of her. Sustainability at FEKKAI is a way of life and the sum of all the choices that we make. In addition to our packaging and ingredient decisions, our salons are Green Circle Salons and recycle 95% of their beauty waste. In our corporate office, you will see refillable water bottles, recycling stations and even a snack bar that offers clean, vegan, and sustainable options to our team members.

In August 2022, we are proud to bring to market our Green Aerosol Collection, powered by Solstice, the world’s first earth friendly, non-ozone depleting aerosol propellant. This was a project many years in the making that many said was impossible. The future is bright for sustainable beauty and getting brighter each day as more and more people lean into this with both their hearts and wallets. We cannot wait to see the final versions of the sustainable clean science innovations that our lab partners are currently working on that will further eliminate by-product waste and carbon emissions.
