While working from home and joining every Zoom call we’re invited to, a ponytail is one of the only styles that makes us feel put together without having to give a ton of effort. There are so many varieties of the iconic look though, so we’ve been working to master how to style a high ponytail over the last few months.
If you’ve been trying to perfect your high pony like we have, fret no more. We tapped our fave celebrity stylist Chad Wood to give influencer Lily Montasser all his tips for getting a gorgeous ponytail that stuns both onscreen and off. Watch the video below and read on for all our at-home advice.
START WITH SUPER STRENGTH SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER FOR STRONGER-FEELING HAIR.
“I love them because I work out so much and I don’t want to shampoo all the time,” says Lily. “My ends feel stronger and my hair feels stronger." Our most reparative shampoo and conditioner are powered by Camargue Rice Water for the strength and nourishment Lily has experienced IRL.
GATHER AN S-HOOK TO STYLE A HIGH PONYTAIL AND A BRISTLE BRUSH.
“This is going to help you grab all those fine hairs and change that hair direction," Chad advises. An expert tip: ponytails are best on second or third-day hair. Then, hook your S into the top of the ponytail and tightly wrap it around for extra height.
TO FINISH, RUB A DAB OF THE SUPER STRENGTH TREATMENT ON FLYAWAYS AND ENDS FOR MOISTURE AND DEFINITION.
“You’re multitasking because it’s also treating the hair," says Chad. This mask doubles as a balm that you can apply to towel dried hair to let it work its magic all day.
THE RESULTS ARE CHIC AND EFFORTLESS.
